The pallet and crate rental expert for the Supply Chain IPP, a subsidiary of Faber Group, has integrated the FRET21 system initiated by AUTF and ADEME. Its objective within 3 years: reduce by 5% the greenhouse gas emissions related to the transport of its brick-brown pallets.

It is official, IPP France is now one of the ordering companies engaged in the FRET21 system, attests its presence on the EVE program website supported by ADEME, Eco CO2 and professional organizations (AUTF, CGF, FNTR, FNTV, OTRE, Union TLF). It has the support of the government represented by the Ministry of Ecological Transition and Territorial Cohesion, and the Ministry of Energy Transition. At the end of a carbon assessment of its logistics activity in 2022, the reference year, the expert in the rental of wood pallets knows how to validate its adherence to the FRET21 system. By 2025, IPP aims to reduce its greenhouse gas emissions by 5% (the equivalent of 517 tonnes) in connection with the transport of its wood pallets which supply in France the production centers of the industrialists to the stores of the retailers.

A reduction plan articulated around 4 axes
To achieve this reduction target, the IPP France teams have developed an ambitious action plan based on four work areas. The first is to reduce kilometres travelled by optimizing pallet transport schemes on its network of service centres in France. The second concerns the optimization of loading rates. The effort was particularly focused on collecting brick-brown pallets from retail stores to maximize truck loads. The third axis aims to promote multimodal transport, through the use of high-speed rail, and the use of alternative diesel fuels to fuel vehicle fleets (biofuels, etc.). Finally, the fourth axis aims to increase the share of its transport partners that are members of the Objective CO2 scheme, guaranteeing more virtuous modes of transport.

“Sustainability has always been in our DNA. By committing to FRET21, IPP demonstrates its ever-increasing commitment to reducing its carbon footprint in line with the company’s values,” says Thibaut ESNEE, Country Director of IPP France. The Faber Group, to which IPP belongs, aims to be carbon neutral across all of its activities by 2045.
