The WEPA Gallery is exhibiting the artist ValJonville
From June 5 to July 5, 2026, the WEPA Art Gallery will spotlight painter ValJonville with Chromatic Bark, a series of thirteen new works. The opening reception will take place on Friday, June 5, 2026, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., by invitation only.
ValJonville offers a true exploration of material and color. Combining oil paint, gold and copper leaf, oil pastels, and colored inks, she creates richly textured, almost living compositions. Through layers, colors, and intricate plays of texture, her works reveal depth and movement, constantly renewing the viewer’s gaze. Without directly depicting nature, ValJonville captures its essence: her paintings evoke bark, forest landscapes, and vegetal fragments. Color plays a central role, guiding the viewer’s emotions and imagination.
The WEPA Gallery continues its commitment to supporting emerging artists within a vibrant contemporary art scene shaped by diverse sensibilities and artistic movements. ValJonville fully embodies this spirit: an honest yet compassionate perspective on society and nature, a way of observing the world without artifice, with a depth that reflects the vision the gallery seeks to promote.
