PTV Logistics announces the arrival of EV Truck Route Planner in France

PTV Logistics' route planner for electric fleets is now available in France. For the occasion, the solution has been enhanced with new features designed to meet the expectations of fleet managers and offer even more precise results adapted to operational realities.

EV Truck Route Planner is the world's first route planner specifically designed for electric fleets. This innovative tool supports companies in their energy transition by accurately planning, simulating and comparing optimal routes. It takes into account criteria specific to electric vehicles, such as autonomy, charging times and traffic conditions, whether in real time or based on historical data.

More than 400 electric models referenced

For its launch in France, PTV Logistics is offering a version 2.0 of the tool with an extended functional scope. EV Truck Route Planner now relies on a database covering more than 400 electric vehicle models. This capacity, doubled compared to the initial version, includes a large majority of vehicles available on the European market, all brands combined.

An algorithm for optimizing charging times

Another major advance compared to the beta version: the integration of an algorithm dedicated to optimizing charging times. This new tool allows managers to determine whether a route is feasible without additional stops or, if necessary, to identify the public charging stations most suited to the journey. The application details the available options, the charging speeds allowing to precisely determine the immobilization times according to the vehicle model, the state of the battery and the capacities of the terminal.

A better estimation of energy consumption

Finally, thanks to the in-depth analysis of the data acquired over the past year, PTV Logistics has strengthened the computing power of its algorithms for estimating energy consumption. They further integrate factors such as weather conditions, on a finer scale, driving style and battery management.

Innovation awarded at the “Eco Performance Award 2024”

Initially launched in Germany in June 2023, EV Truck Route Planner was recognized for its innovation on November 5th. At the Zero Emission Summit, the tool received the prestigious Eco Performance Award in the “Innovation” category, awarded by the LAE (Logistics Advisory Experts) college of experts. This award recognizes companies that stand out for their commitment to environmental sustainability and economic performance.
