Gustomio

Voted Growth Champion by Les Échos for five consecutive years and Europe's Fastest-Growing Company by the Financial Times for three times, the wholesaler specializing in the distribution of Italian products, Gustomio (formerly Gusto), continues its growth by adopting the PTV OptiFlow route optimization software, developed by PTV Logistics.

Since its launch in 2015, Gustomio has enjoyed dazzling success. Its concept: to distribute quality products sourced in Italy to restaurant professionals. With record growth of +526% between 2020 and 2023, the company is among Les Échos' Growth Champions 2025 and in the Financial Times' 2024 ranking. Its sales volume reached nearly €30 million in 2024. Behind this performance lies rigorous logistics. "Customer service and transportation are closely linked." "The challenge is distribution!" emphasizes Laurent Knibbe, founder of Gustomio.

To support its growth and guarantee optimal service quality to its customers, primarily restaurateurs in the Île-de-France region, Gustomio adopted PTV OptiFlow. Fully operational since the end of 2024, the SaaS software optimizes its delivery routes in seconds from its logistics base in Wissous, Essonne, near the Rungis market. Gustomio receives orders in the morning, prepares them from 3 p.m., and then makes the first deliveries as early as 7 a.m. the next day. This just-in-time management of dry, ambient, and frozen products requires rigor and precision. "Faced with the increase in orders, manual planning was becoming too complex and prone to errors," explains Laurent Knibbe. "We needed a solution to automate this process." »

A 20% saving on operating costs

Deployed in just four months, PTV OptiFlow retrieves orders from the company's ERP and instantly generates delivery plans. It optimizes fleet routes and organizes transport in a balanced manner, taking into account the goods to be loaded, their weight, the number of distribution points, etc. This optimization has resulted in a 20% reduction in operating costs, enabling optimized use of the wholesaler's twenty or so trucks and reducing fuel consumption.

Although PTV OptiFlow automates planning, it also offers the ability to make manual adjustments, particularly for address sectorization. "From one street to another, the Paris arrondissement changes, which previously led to duplicate deliveries. By regaining control of PTV OptiFlow, we can adjust our plans based on the reality on the ground," explains Laurent Knibbe. "Ultimately, we have a tool that is 100% customized to our needs. We deliver better, we consume less, we pollute less," concludes the manager.
