The handling systems specialist UVOTec, distributor of the manufacturer FMH Conveyors, has signed 3 projects in quick succession for the installation of 32 telescopic conveyors in France.

Among them, a contract for the installation of 26 telescopic conveyors. “The largest projects sold so far are usually around 8 to 10 machines. 26 is a first since our creation” rejoices Laurent UVO, the director of UVOTec. The agreement was signed with a major name in logistics services which will use the 26 FMH conveyors as part of a new project for one of its clients. The telescopics will be installed this summer on a logistics platform in Ile-de-France and will be used mainly for loading packages transported by trucks.

Of the 6 other remaining conveyors, 4 were sold to a discount store brand selling home furnishings, personal equipment and groceries. They will modernize the existing installation and improve the working ergonomics of handlers during unloading operations. The telescopic conveyors will be delivered in May to Clermont-Ferrand.

UVOTec has finally signed a mix of handling solutions with a carrier specializing in express deliveries. The installation sold, used for unloading goods, consists of 2 telescopic conveyors at the warehouse entrance - one fixed and one with translation allowing the machine to be moved from one platform to another - a motorized conveyor which will ventilate packages to two distribution areas and another motorized conveyor, flexible, for palletizing at the end of the line. The solution will be operational in mid-May.

“The mechanization of truck loading and unloading operations in warehouses is one of the links in the logistics chain where there are still significant gains in productivity and ergonomics at work to be carried out. These 3 great projects from the start of the year show that there are real needs from supply chain decision-makers for these solutions. We hope that this dynamic will continue until the end of this year” analyzes Laurent UVO.
