SSI Schaefer is accelerating its growth in France
Driven by soaring demand, SSI Schaefer is entering a new phase of growth in the French market, with the group recording a record order volume of €2.1 billion in 2025. This record level confirms the appeal of its warehouse automation solutions to businesses.
“France is an extremely dynamic market, contrary to popular belief,” observes Philippe Dugougeat, Managing Director of SSI Schaefer France. According to him, the scarcity of land, recruitment difficulties, and the need to optimize space are driving manufacturers to accelerate automation. “Companies are looking for scalable solutions that can adapt to their investment pace. That’s precisely our strength.”
The creation of around forty jobs
This growth is directly reflected in the company's workforce in France. Currently employing 64 people, the company plans to recruit around 40 more by 2030: project managers, engineers, and maintenance technicians, based at client sites or working remotely. To further secure this talent pool, SSI Schaefer will also establish partnerships with local schools to train apprentices with technical skills.
A new headquarters twice as large
To absorb this growth, SSI Schaefer is also changing its headquarters within the region. Since June 30, SSI Schaefer has moved from the town of Cholet to Saint-André-de-la-Marche (49), a few kilometers away, into a more energy-efficient building that is twice as large: 800 m² of office space compared to 400 m² previously.
A French dynamic that is part of the group's trajectory
Among the three global leaders in the sector, the SSI Schaefer Group recorded a record order volume of €2.1 billion in 2025, driven by growth of over 14% in its logistics and customer service activities. This international performance is reflected in France, where the company is strengthening its teams and capabilities to support the ramp-up of automation projects. "This new site and our upcoming recruitment drive give us the means to accelerate and sustainably support our customers' growth," concludes Philippe Dugougeat.
