To cope with its increasing delivery volumes, the company specializing in home-delivered meal kits is now relying on PTV Logistics software to optimize its routes in Australia and New Zealand. The goal: to improve operational efficiency while supporting the rapid expansion of its distribution network.

HelloFresh continues its international expansion. This sustained growth is making last-mile deliveries more complex. In this context, the company has chosen PTV OptiFlow software from PTV Logistics to support the rapid expansion of its distribution network.

The implementation of PTV Logistics' software aims to enhance delivery reliability and improve operational efficiency, while ensuring consistent performance as its network expands in both countries. Specifically, the solution enables the company to model complex delivery patterns and generate optimized routes on a large scale. It dynamically incorporates factors such as traffic conditions, delivery windows, customer density, and vehicle constraints.

A reduction of up to 4% in kilometers travelled and operating costs

This optimized route management reduces distances traveled while improving delivery punctuality and service levels, both in urban and regional areas. Integrated with HelloFresh's planning and distribution systems, the solution generates measurable gains, with reductions of up to 4% in kilometers traveled and operational costs, directly contributing to efficiency and sustainability goals.

The platform also improves operational visibility and secures route execution, including during peak activity and seasonal periods. Finally, it significantly reduces the time spent on manual planning by automating some of the adjustments previously made by teams.

“PTV Logistics is more than just a software provider. They are a true partner. By working closely with their consultants during the implementation phase, we were able to go beyond simply planning routes from point A to point B. This allowed us to integrate real-time traffic data and local delivery constraints, resulting in a more resilient network that consistently meets our high service standards,” says Jasper van Dooijeweert, Associate Director of Transport Planning at HelloFresh in Australia and New Zealand.

“Since implementing PTV OptiFlow, we have seen a significant reduction in planning time. Our planners spend much less time making manual route adjustments, and we have observed measurable improvements in delivery reliability. These efficiency gains allow us to maintain competitive delivery rates for our customers, even when fuel and labor costs fluctuate.” adds Tony Tannous, Director of Operations at HelloFresh in Australia and New Zealand.
