IPP, the European specialist in the rental and sustainable management of wooden pallets, continues its growth trajectory in Europe, with Italy in its sights. By 2030, the rental company aims for 7 million pallet movements in the country.

In five years, the wooden pallet rental company IPP has more than doubled its turnover in Europe, rising from €117 million to €250 million this year. Its rental offering, based on a circular model, is increasingly appealing to major retailers subject to the new European regulations PPWR (Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation) and EPR (Extended Producer Responsibility). "Our circular model perfectly addresses current environmental and economic challenges. Companies are looking for sustainable, reliable, and flexible packaging solutions: that's exactly what we offer them," says Thibaut Esnée, IPP's regional director, responsible for France, the Iberian Peninsula, and Italy since June 2025.

The creation of an IPP Italia subsidiary

To consolidate its position in Southern Europe, IPP is accelerating its development in Italy. By 2030, the rental company aims to handle 7 million pallet movements, a volume of activity ten times greater than today's. To support this ambitious goal, the group is creating the subsidiary IPP Italia and will open offices in Verona in the coming weeks. On the operational side, two new service centers dedicated to the collection and repair of wooden pallets have been opened, bringing the number of the rental company's depots to four, located in the Lombardy region in the north, as well as in Basilicata and Apulia in the south of the country.

Recruiting a local team

The opening of the Italian branch will also be accompanied by the recruitment of five to seven employees by January 2026. Their mission will be to strengthen IPP's business relationships in Italy – particularly with retail chains – and optimize the leasing company's logistics network to guarantee optimal service quality for its users. Finally, to support this development, IPP plans to leverage the maturity of the French and Spanish markets, where the company already has a strong presence. These markets will serve as growth drivers and platforms for commercial synergies, enabling better support for transnational clients also operating in Italy. "Italy represents a strategic market with strong potential, where we see growing demand for our packaging solutions. Strengthening our presence will allow us to better support our clients and offer even more efficient service to companies in the country," concludes Thibaut Esnée.
